Answer: Yes, this saliva test and saliva collection device are intended for use under the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for at-home self-collection in the U.S.

Answer: The Kai Care At-Home Test Kit requires only a saliva sample. To ensure the saliva is usable for testing, do not eat, drink, or smoke 30 minutes before collecting the saliva sample. Detailed instructions will be provided to you in the test kit’s packaging.

Answer: Kai Medical Laboratory's testing process detects the presence of all currently known strains of COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 including the UK variant (B.1.1.7), South African variant (B.1.1351), California variant (B.1.427/B.1429), and New York (B.1.526). A positive result does not specify which variant of COVID-19 the test has detected, only that COVID-19 is present in the sample.

Answer: Within 24-48 hours of our lab receiving your sample, you will receive a text and email notification that your results are ready. These notifications include a printable version you can share as needed.
